Garage Cleanout Checklist for Metro Detroit Homeowners
Prepare for a garage cleanout with a checklist for sorting items, clearing access, and getting a junk removal estimate.
Before you ask for an estimate
- Mark what stays. Use tape, labels, or a separate corner for tools, seasonal gear, and anything you want to keep.
- List the bulky items. Call out shelves, exercise equipment, or heavy furniture. Photograph each part of the garage if one photo can’t show it all.
- Set aside questionable materials. Flag paint, solvents, fuel, and other hazardous materials for separate disposal. C&X Services does not accept hazardous materials.
- Check the path to the driveway. Tell us if the garage door won’t open, there are steps, or the truck may need to park farther away. Leave heavy lifting to the crew.
On pickup day
Make sure we can reach the garage and identify the items you want removed. If the pile has grown since the estimate, tell us before we start loading so we can review the added items with you.
